The 2019 Lamborghini Urus, the most flamboyant SUV on the market, arrived at our New York headquarters.
The Lamborghini Urus is an SUV manufactured by Italian automotive manufacturer – Lamborghini.
The designers have literally done as much as possible to scale up a supercar to SUV proportions. The Urus is all angles and slashes, with a steeply sloping roofline.
How could it not be with a 650-hp 4.0-litre V8 cranking out 627 lb.-ft. of torque to all four wheels? FANTASTIC!
The Lamborghini Urus concept was unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show on 23 April 2012. Characterized by a 5.2 L V10 engine shared with the Gallardo, the engine generated a maximum power output of 600 PS (592 hp; 441 kW) and was accompanied with an all-wheel drive system. Production began in February 2018 and Lamborghini plans to build 1,000 units in the first year of production.
The Porsche Cayenne eater even gets Ford F-150-like fuel economy at 13.6 L/100 km combined. At $232,000 to start, however, fuel consumption of the Urus is probably the last thing buyers will be concerned about.
Urus appears to have a high stance, but the air suspension can raise and lower the vehicle. It’s supposed to perform as well on the track as it does off-road. Shortly, would you give $250,000 for one car like this?
The Urus can accelerate from 0–100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.6 seconds and 0–200 km/h (123 mph) in 12.5 seconds. Lamborghini has created the world’s most popular set of carbon ceramic disc brakes for the Urus, with 440 mm discs in the front and 370 mm in the rear using ten-piston callipers at the front and single-piston callipers at the rear.
The all-wheel drive system of the Urus under normal driving sends 40 percent of the engine’s torque to the front wheels and 60 percent to the rear wheels.
The flat-bottomed wheel is wrapped in stitched, perforated leather, and is complete with Italian-flag. The power is routed through an 8-speed transmission to the Urus’ full-time all-wheel-drive system, which biases the rear wheels in sport modes but distributes the grunt to all four when the conditions get gnarlier. Urus also has rear-wheel steering option.
Conclusion is simple. The Lamborghini Urus is most luxurious SUV model EVER!
